  11. You know. I mentioned this at the beginning of this thread and I 
  12. really feel it's worth stressing again.

  14.      If AT bothers to do another 680x0 Amiga this year, it is 
  15. absolutely essential that they offer some sort of mini-tower/pizza
  16. boxed version. I could roll off a least of at least fifty Amiga 
  17. users I know personally who would buy the thing if it existed.

  19.      To me it seems so painfully obvious. One of the key factors
  20. in bolstering third party card sales to to produce a low end 
  21. machine with slots. Who the Hell wants to buy a high end box AND
  22. plug cards into it. The whole point to low end is that you can buy
  23. the thing cheap and EXPAND it later.

  25.      The 1200+ MIGHT be a good idea IF there weren't already plans
  26. for a 1200 PPC card in the works. Think about it. OK. AT puts out 
  27. this machine to mimic all the expanded 1200s out there, so that 
  28. people can use the trap door slot for something other than an 030
  29. card. Oh yeah. That's just what I needed, a computer that's actually 
  30. slower stock than my accelerated 1200 whose sole expansion slot is 
  31. going be sacraficed for a PPC accelerator in four months.

  33.      What if I want a GFX card? Ooops. I'm out of slots!
  34.      Sound card? Oh gee. That slot's still full.

  36.      My 1200 is fast approaching it's fourth birthday and it's been
  37. through quite a lot, especially recently. I want a new system ASAP.
  38. To be honest, I could care less about the PPC until it's actually 
  39. available, since the only real use I'll probably get out of a Power
  40. Ami will be in the games playing area, and I've got consoles for 
  41. that now. For the kind of "work" I do, I don't need much more than 
  42. a 30/50, but I would like a CyberGFX and some other assorted add 
  43. ons. Options that are not convenient with a 1200.

  45.      The fact of the matter is that, I'm closer to switching platforms
  46. now than I ever was during the whole liquidation fiasco, simply 
  47. because it seems as though AT are unwilling and or unable to produce 
  48. a decent mini-tower. Oh well. I've got a friend who's selling an 040 
  49. Mac cheap. Maybe it's time to give him a call? Nah. Not yet, but I'm 
  50. getting there. :)
